2023 Melton Toyota Celebrates its
50th Anniversary

The Harrison family commenced trading as Melton Toyota in February 1973, and it’s doubtful they could've imagined just how far the journey would take them. Keith & Joan ran the local Shell Service Station and were "selling a few cars on consignment from another Toyota dealer”. They did so well that it wasn’t long before Toyota approached them and asked if they’d consider a franchise representing Toyota in Melton, and it was from this meeting that J & K Harrison Motors was born.

The Harrison family has long held the vision of providing the Melton community with industry-leading facilities that serve their mobility well into the future. The recent development of the 7.5 acre Melton Toyota site is the realisation of that vision.

The new 4,500 sqm facility provides an on-site pre-delivery workshop, dedicated tyre and wheel alignment centre, large detailing facilities, specialised tint bays and a Paint Oven offering factory-approved Restore and Repair Services. They have also added Kinto Car Rental and have included 4 EV Charge Stations to the services they provide. By size alone, Melton Toyota is Victoria’s largest Toyota dealership.

Whilst facilities are important, the guest experience is the heart of Melton Toyota. The dealership has been rated as Toyota’s Most Recommended Melbourne Dealership for 10 of the past 12 years. This accolade comes directly from Toyota’s own surveying of their Melbourne dealership guests and is earned by their unwavering commitment to the guest.

Committed to our Community

Committed to our Community

Melton Toyota is a local family business in the truest sense of the word. The Harrisons have lived and worked in the area for more than 4 generations. Keith is a past Melton Citizen of the Year, and served on Rotary for many years. Joan has worked and continues to work for a number of local charity groups. Grant is a past Patron of the local Relay for Life Charity and Gayle is focused on sustainability projects here and abroad.

It is the family’s commitment to giving back that makes Community an essential ingredient in our identity. It fills us with joy to look back and see that over time we have provided financial support to local sporting and not-for-profit organizations in excess of $650,000. In recent times, this has included donations that have added over 500 plants to the local Botanic Gardens and benches to sit on and admire the magnificent surroundings, long-term sponsorships of numerous local sporting clubs, and support of the local L2P driving program. L2P assists disadvantaged youth in achieving the required driving hours and skills to get their driver’s licenses. We’ve raised over $10,000 for the Westgate Blue Ribbon charity and we recently hosted the Les Twentyman Foundation Christmas toy drive at the dealership. In addition to this, we have a Shop Local - Shop Small policy, which means wherever possible, and often regardless of price, we use local businesses to meet our business needs. We shop locally because, together we believe we can make our community stronger. Community is at the heart of our business and who we are.

Environmentally Focused

Environmentally Focused

Creating an innovative and sustainable dealership that minimizes its impact on the local environment has been a key driver behind our new facilities. It was our aim to take our already leading environmental practices and expand them further. To this end we now have a 140Kw solar panel system, 200,000 litre underground water tanks, which reduce our need for main water supply around the dealership. The use of glass panels, open areas, sky lighting & high ceilings have reduced the dependency on artificial lighting and power. Hi-tech heat diffusing glass in our new building makes us less reliant on air conditioning. Light timers, dimmers, and activity sensors limit our power use on the premises. Our service departments dispose of batteries, tyres and oil in an environmentally friendly way. Our car wash is run on 100% rainwater. Environmental sustainability is on ongoing challenge and one we will continue to pursue for the next 50years and beyond.
