There is a choice of two engines, the 4.7 litre V8 DOHC petrol five speed auto and the 4.5 litre V8 twin turbo diesel six speed auto. These engines are more powerful yet more efficient than the previous models. The substantial towing capacity of the Toyota Landcruiser is 3500kg braked and 750kg unbraked. All models come with the Smart Start/Smart Entry feature. You don't have to use the key to open the doors or start the car. When the detected key is in range just touch the door handles to open up, or step on the brake and press the start button to turn on the Toyota Landcruiser.
Toyota Landcruiser uses the Australian designed KDSS -Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, (optional on GXL turbo model) to enhance the ride. This system works to keep the Toyota Landcruiser as flat as possible during a corner, reducing body roll. Other driver assist technologies are the CRAWL 4WD control system (Petrol models only), Downhill Assist Control (DAC) (Diesel models only), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Active Traction Control (ATRC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Multi-terrain ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).
