Awards Silver

Melbourne's Grand Hyatt Ballroom was alive with excitement last Saturday, when the heads of Toyota Australia gathered with senior Victorian &Tasmanian dealership management, for the announcement of Toyota's Southern Region 2009 Excellence  Awards. These awards are the crowning glory for the most elite Toyota Dealerships in the country. By evenings end, Melton Toyota had taken home a staggering 3Awards.

Amongst these was the inaugural Southern Region Talent Excellence Award. This award is achieved for performance above all others, in criteria covering training hours, individual & team achievements and overall levels of staff engagement. The award is testimony to Dealer Principal, Grant Harrison's positivity and healthy competitive streak. It evidences the supportive environment he fosters both in the workplace and community at large. On winning the award Grant said "it has been a long held goal to provide an environment that engages and encourages every member of our team. To receive acknowledgment from Toyota Australia for these efforts, is something very special".

In addition to the Talent Excellence Award, the Melton Toyota Service Department won its 20th Bronze achievement award. Don't let the regular nature of this achievement lead you to believe it's easy. As Leigh Evans, Melton Toyota's Service Manager  explains "to win Bronze in Toyota's Excellence Awards your achievements in profitability, productivity, procedure systems, customer service, and training must be consistently well above average for an entire year. Any loss of points can see you out of the game. Achieving one Bronze Excellence Award is something to crow about, achieving 20, that's some kind of record!"

Over in the Parts Department (with 18 Bronze Awards under their belt) Brad Evans Melton Toyota's Parts Accessories Manager wants tell us the Toyota Silver Excellence Award is Toyota's highest performance rated award and it is from Silver that one National Gold winner will be chosen.  He should know, having just received the prized Silver Award last Saturday. The only Metropolitan dealer to do so, Brad is super proud if his team and super excited that the race for him isn't over yet. "This award is the highest achievement by our Parts and Accessories department in Melton Toyota's 38 year partnership with Toyota Australia. We focused our sights on this goal from the start of last year and to achieve it in such a tough financial environment was truly exceptional."

Could Silver turn into a coveted Gold, well that will depend on a national judging panel due to visit the dealership in the coming weeks. Grant Harrison said "as a long time local business we're exceedingly proud to be part of the Melton and surrounding community. We consider it both our honour and duty to provide them we exceptional levels of service. We hope that through achievements such as these we make them equally proud to have us here". And as you would expect with this Melton born and bred boy, he means it

Tree Day 2009

For the third year in a row, Melton Toyota has joined forces with the Friends of Toolern Creek and the Melton Specialist School to revegetate the banks of Toolern Creek in Melton.

About 350 native grasses were planted on 31st July for Schools Tree Day. A great day was had by students, teachers and volunteers alike finishing up with a well deserved barbeque.
